Dear Trillium Families;
As part of our Ministry funding through a Parent Reaching Out Grant, our School Council is pleased to announce a joint effort presentation for parents. Along with Moffat Creek Public School and Doon Public School School Councils, we will be providing access to a parent session supported by a company called “Better Screen Time.
The event will be tailored to our school communities. The focus of the presentation is supporting families’ mental health as it relates to our increasing dependence on screens, which has been exacerbated due to the pandemic.
From the Website (https://www.betterscreentime.com/):
“Parents need a strategy, a workable plan to help them navigate technology while strengthening their bond with their kids. Creating a Tech-Healthy Family gives you the tools, resources, and the points of discussion to create your Family Technology Plan so you can create healthy tech boundaries and feel more confident in your ability to raise children in a digital world.”
In order to help the presenter understand our community needs, they have asked that we share the following survey. It is anonymous and should only take a few minutes to complete. We appreciate your input! https://forms.gle/pvDGEa5ZNrAn3YmD8.
The session will be virtual (via Google Meet) from 7pm-8pm on Wednesday, April 28th. To receive an invite to the session, please email Siobhan_Shonk@wrdsb.ca. Please note that due to limitations of Google Meet, invites are limited. So please let us know right away if you would like to join. Your invite will be sent to the email you provide by Monday, April 26th.
We look forward to learning with you!
Siobhan Shonk, Principal & Trillium School Council
