School Council
The purpose of the School Council is to help improve student achievement and to enhance the accountability of the education system to parents.
School Councils are advisory organizations. A School Council’s primary means of achieving its purpose is by making recommendations to the principal of the school and the school board. Boards and principals are responsible for considering the recommendations made by each School Council and for advising the council(s) of the actions taken in response to the recommendations.
The Trillium School Council organizes a variety of fundraising initiatives such as the Dancethon, the Fun Fair and the sale of Little Caesars’ Pizza kits. Proceeds from these fundraisers are allocated towards subsidizing things such as student planners or the grade six camp days. We are also allocating funds towards updating or replacing our playground equipment.
We also arrange just for fun days at the school like popcorn days, movie nights and hotdog days.
Everyone is welcome to the school council meetings, but if you are unable to join council we are still always looking for volunteers! We do not require any long-term commitment but if you are able to volunteer at any time throughout the school year please do get in touch and we can let you know of any one-time or ongoing opportunities. Please call the school at 519-743-6368 to be put in touch with a School Council member.
If you would like to join School Council, all you need to do is drop in on our next meeting.
