School Council
The purpose of the School Council is to help improve student achievement and to enhance the accountability of the education system to parents.
School Councils are advisory organizations. A School Council’s primary means of achieving its purpose is by making recommendations to the principal of the school and the school board. Boards and principals are responsible for considering the recommendations made by each School Council and for advising the council(s) of the actions taken in response to the recommendations.
The Trillium School Council organizes a variety of fundraising initiatives such as Food Drives, Danceathons, the Fun Fair, and the sale of Little Caesars’ Pizza kits. Proceeds from these fundraisers are allocated towards subsidizing things such as class trips, busing throughout the year, and grade six camp days. We are also allocating funds towards updating our outdoor play areas and gardens.
We also organize and provide family and community events at the school such as movie nights, popcorn days, whole-school spaghetti lunches, and BBQs with foam parties.
Everyone is welcome to the school council meetings. If you are unable to join us we are still always looking for volunteers! We do not require any long-term commitment; if you can volunteer at any time throughout the school year please connect with us! Email School Council at
